‘O Cyclamen’ world premiere in London August 21

I am excited about the upcoming premiere of my new choral work O Cyclamen, which will be performed by the new London-based choral ensemble Ephemeral Love at St. George’s, Bloomsbury in London on Thursday, August 21, 2025. Ephemeral Love’s artistic director, Ryan Connolly, commissioned the work. The choir will be singing in both Lebanese Arabic and English.

The text is inspired by the wild cyclamens that bloom each year in the mountains of Lebanon. I remember with joy and nostalgia how they return year after year on the terraced hills beside stone walls in my village of Ain Ksour.

I will be at the concert to witness human voices bringing to life the words and music. Moments of artistic collaboration such as this are precious, and I look forward to sharing this one with you.
